Wirral Youth Alliance - Building a stronger youth offer for Wirral

The Wirral Youth Alliance is a network of youth organisations working together to build a high-quality, sustainable youth offer shaped by the needs and experiences of young people and communities across Wirral.
Youth services play a vital role in supporting young people’s wellbeing, development and future opportunities, particularly in communities experiencing disadvantage. However, there is currently no comprehensive overview of the activities, services and support available to young people across the borough.
The Wirral Youth Alliance wants to change that.
With the National Youth Matters strategy placing renewed emphasis on youth work, early intervention and positive activities, partners are working to map youth provision across Wirral, understand what is already available and identify where more support is needed.
As a first step, a new digital survey has been launched by the Wirral Youth Alliance, WirralCVS, Wirral Council Youth Services and Wirral Churches Together.
What is the Wirral Youth Alliance?
The Wirral Youth Alliance was established through Cradle to Career, with funding from Wirral-based housing association Magenta Living and its Magenta20 Community Fund.
It brings together local youth organisations and partners to champion youth work, strengthen young people’s voices and develop a more joined-up approach to youth provision across Wirral.
The Alliance is made up of and supported by The Hive Youth Zone Wirral, Shaftesbury Youth Club, Equilibrium North West, Gautby Road Community Centre, Web Merseyside, Neo Community, Wirral Council and Wirral Council Youth Services, Wirral CVS, Together Wirral Churches and Wirral Youth for Christ.
The network was formally established in July 2025 and draws on the knowledge and experience of local organisations, professionals and communities to help create opportunities that enable children, young people and families to thrive.
Mapping youth provision across Wirral
Where are the hidden gems in your neighbourhood?
Where are young people being left with “nothing to do”?
How can young people play a leading role in shaping local services and policy?
The new digital survey will help build a shared and accurate picture of where young people aged 11 and over currently go, what they take part in and what they would like to see available in the future.
The Alliance wants to hear from:
Young people aged 11 - 19 (up to 25 with additional needs)
Parents and carers
Public youth services
Voluntary and community organisations supporting young people
Other professionals and organisations working with young people
The findings will help partners to:
Understand what youth provision currently exists and where it is located
Identify gaps and communities that are not being reached
Recognise effective practice and opportunities for development
Inform a more sustainable, long-term approach to youth provision across Wirral
The survey will also help uncover the activities and organisations that may currently be less visible.
By hearing directly from young people, families, providers and communities, the Wirral Youth Alliance can build on what is already working and develop a stronger youth offer for future generations.
